About Dr. Pouya Akhbari
Dr Pouya Akhbari is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery. He completed his training in London on the King's College and Imperial College rotations.
Dr Akhbari has completed several national and international fellowships, including the prestigious Upper Limb Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital and the Perth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship in Australia. He has also completed fellowships at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry, plus St Mary's Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
In addition to a BSc in Physiology from University College London and an MSc in Trauma and Orthopaedics, Dr Akhbari completed a Doctor of Medicine by Research degree at Imperial College London, focused on biomarkers and personalised medicine. He has published eighteen peer-reviewed journal articles and has developed a practice managing complex shoulder and elbow conditions, alongside multiple hand and wrist conditions.
