About this service

GHMS prepares private medical reports when a doctor has enough clinical information to support the report. Reports may be needed for insurers, employers, embassies, airlines, travel requirements, or another authorised recipient.

A report can summarise the presenting concern, relevant history, examination findings, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and available test results. Depending on the request, the doctor may need a consultation, examination, medical records, or test results before writing it.

The receiving organisation sets its own wording, evidence, and acceptance requirements, so patients should share any forms or instructions with reception before booking.

Common questions

Do I need a consultation for a medical report?
Usually, yes. The doctor needs enough current clinical information to write the report, which may require a consultation, examination, medical records, or test results. Reception will explain what is needed after you describe the report and its purpose.
Will an insurer, employer, airline, or embassy accept my report?
The receiving organisation makes the final decision and may require specific wording, forms, tests, or an approved clinician. Ask the recipient for its current requirements and send them to GHMS before your appointment so the doctor can confirm what can be provided.
How long does a medical report take?
Timing depends on the report, the assessment required, and whether GHMS needs records or test results. Reception will give you an expected timeframe after reviewing the recipient's requirements; urgent requests cannot always be completed immediately.
Can you prepare a medical report for my insurer?
Yes, where the doctor has the necessary clinical information and your consent. Send the insurer's questions or form before booking so GHMS can confirm the assessment, records, and tests that may be required.
Can you prepare a report for travel or visa requirements?
GHMS can help with some travel or visa-related medical reports. Requirements vary by country, airline, embassy, and visa type. Check the official requirements and send them to reception before booking.
